Like a lot of people, the Christmas season is my favorite time of year. Shops have started displaying Christmas decorations in their windows. Soon it will be time to start our own decorating. I still follow the tradition that it isn’t quite Christmas season until Thanksgiving is over.
Every year I open up the Christmas season by watching my favorite Christmas movie: White Christmas. I often put Christmas movies on while decorating. It is one of my favorite things about Christmas. Here are my top 10 favorite Christmas movies, in no particular order, that I am getting excited about watching next month:
- White Christmas
- Meet Me in Saint Louis
- Miracle on 34th Street (the 1947 version)
- National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
- Die Hard
- The Holiday
- Home Alone
- Muppet Christmas Carol
- Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964 animated movie)
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966 animated movie)
What are your favorite movies to watch during the Christmas season?
Okay, here are several great Christmas movies that you didn’t mention… It’s a Wonderful Life (my fave!), Polar Express, Christmas Vacation (Chevy Chase classic), the Santa Clause, The Christmas Cottage, A Christmas Carol (orig), Babes in Toyland (way before your time), that’s a Frankie Avalon, Annette Funachello movie, and Love Actually, which is another one of my faves. If you haven’t seen any of these, check them out.
I think Love Actually should have probably made my list. My husband and I both adore that movie. I’m also a fan of It’s a Wonderful Life. Thanks for all the great suggestions. 🙂
