I am making some progress on my Winter Reading List and reading some Zadie Smith (finally!). (See my 2019 A Focus on Authors Reading Challenge).

I feel I will make even more progress when I participate in the 24in48 Readthon this weekend as well.

  1. Ahh i love reading these posts and I just recently jumped back on the bandwagon again! I have read part of N-W by Zadie Smith but I just couldn’t get into it. I think i got confused by lack of speech marks! I really want to read My Year Of Rest and Relaxation though it sounds brilliant.

    • Yeah….there are so many authors that shouldn’t be new to me but are. I already owned multiple Zadie Smith books but hadn’t read any. I figured with this challenge I would do my best to read as much by the authors as I could in a month. I’ll be happy if I get through 3 books by each author. I feel that is a good amount to clearly judge whether that author’s work is for you.

  2. The Zadie Smith books look tempting. Unmarriageable is a book I scrolled past yesterday…and paused to consider. She Lies in Wait sounds so good. Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

    • I am more than half way through Unmarriageable. I’m a huge Jane Austen fan, but find some modern retellings frustrating. However, this one is really good so far. I’m also enjoying She Lies in Wait as well so far.

    • I should have 3-4 Zadie Smith books read and will do a full Zadie Smith review at the end of the month. I think they have been interesting so far. I am glad I am finally reading her. Thanks for visiting! I’ll go check out your WWW right now.

  3. I’m a huge Austen fan too and Unmarriageable is on my TBR! I’ve heard so many good things about it, and I’m glad to read that you’re enjoying it too! I look forward to your thoughts when you’re finished! Happy Reading! 🙂

    • It is hard not to be obsessed with Austen. 🙂 Have you read Pride and Prejudice? I would make sure you read that before “Unmarriageable”. So many amazing moments would be lost if you did read the original.

      • I did! Since I only just started with Jane Austen I wanted to begin with the one people talk about the most. But thanks for checking – I would have to miss out on the big connections between the two books!
