HAPPY READING!!!
Ahh i love reading these posts and I just recently jumped back on the bandwagon again! I have read part of N-W by Zadie Smith but I just couldn’t get into it. I think i got confused by lack of speech marks! I really want to read My Year Of Rest and Relaxation though it sounds brilliant.
Really fascinating to read about your A Focus on Authors Reading Project. I haven’t read any Zadie Smith but I’ve read Half of a Yellow Sun which is on your list for next month.
Here’s my WWW link: https://whatcathyreadnext.wordpress.com/2019/01/23/www-wednesdays-23rd-january-19/
Yeah….there are so many authors that shouldn’t be new to me but are. I already owned multiple Zadie Smith books but hadn’t read any. I figured with this challenge I would do my best to read as much by the authors as I could in a month. I’ll be happy if I get through 3 books by each author. I feel that is a good amount to clearly judge whether that author’s work is for you.
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts about She Lies in Wait. My WWW.
Hi Sarah,
I’d like to invite you to participate in a paying book blogging opportunity. If interested get back to me on maureenw535@gmail.com
That’s a lot of books by one author in the same week..🙂 What genre are these?
I am really trying to get a feel for certain authors this year. Zadie Smith write literary fiction. Feel Free, which I am starting soon, is an essay collection.
Got it, thanks! That’s great! Hope you enjoy it! ☺️
I don’t think I’ve read much, if any, literary fiction – I’m much more into romantic suspense or fantasy/historical/retellings etc. But this year I’m also going to be trying some literary fiction. 🙂🙂
The Zadie Smith books look tempting. Unmarriageable is a book I scrolled past yesterday…and paused to consider. She Lies in Wait sounds so good. Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.
I am more than half way through Unmarriageable. I’m a huge Jane Austen fan, but find some modern retellings frustrating. However, this one is really good so far. I’m also enjoying She Lies in Wait as well so far.
I really need to read some Zadie Smith!
That is exactly the statement I used mulitple times that eventually convinced me to have this month of Zadie Smith.
I have not had the chance to read any of Zadie Smith, I will have to check them out if you think they are good! Here is my WWW http://zooloosbookdiary.co.uk/www-wednesdays-23th-janaury-2019-www
I should have 3-4 Zadie Smith books read and will do a full Zadie Smith review at the end of the month. I think they have been interesting so far. I am glad I am finally reading her. Thanks for visiting! I’ll go check out your WWW right now.
I will look out for the big review! Gives me more to add to my list! You are so welcome! X
I hope you enjoy My Year of Rest and Relaxation! I read it last summer and thought it was really good. Moshfegh is a great author.

I’m so glad to hear this. I’m starting it during the readathon this weekend and am really looking forward to it. I’ve been waiting for it for a while now.
I love that She Lies in Wait cover! It’s pretty in a creepy way. Does it have a creepy feel to it?
I’m a huge Austen fan too and Unmarriageable is on my TBR! I’ve heard so many good things about it, and I’m glad to read that you’re enjoying it too! I look forward to your thoughts when you’re finished! Happy Reading! 🙂
so if I were to try Smith, which book do you think I should start with?
So far out of White Teeth and Swing Time, I liked Swing Time more. We shall see how On Beauty and Feel Free go before I give my final verdict on that though. lol
Unmarriageable looks amazing! I read my first Austen last year (embarrassing but true) and now I am fairly obsessed. I am so impressed with your Zadie Smith reading!
It is hard not to be obsessed with Austen. 🙂 Have you read Pride and Prejudice? I would make sure you read that before “Unmarriageable”. So many amazing moments would be lost if you did read the original.
I did! Since I only just started with Jane Austen I wanted to begin with the one people talk about the most. But thanks for checking – I would have to miss out on the big connections between the two books!
I’ve never actually read any Zadie Smith books. They do look good though. Happy reading.
I’m almost done with my last Zadie Smith of the month and am really glad I chose to read her this month.
