WWW Wednesdays – April 10, 2019

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Time for another WWW Wednesdays, which is brought to you by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. If you too want to participate, answer the above questions and post that link on Sam’s page.

I tried to participate in the Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon last Saturday, but I was so exhausted after hosting a garage sale that morning, that I just decided it was too much. Plus, is it just me or are readathons too much about social media and less about actually reading? I just decided to relax and read for the rest of the weekend, so I did manage to make progress on my Spring Reading List and my Margaret Atwood reads (see A Focus on Authors Reading Challenge).

  1. I thought about participating in that readathon, but man, I was just so swamped by work and absolutely braindead, so I chilled instead lol. Plus, it’s gorgeous out now! I don’t want to post reading updates. I want to be outside, freaking out over bees coming too close. xD

The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek sounds great! I’m a big sucker for books that involve people loving books. Hope you enjoy it.

    Here’s my WWW Wednesday post.

    • I completely understand your weekend plans that kept you from the readathon. I too am having wonderful weather and have been reading by the pool for the last couple weeks. Hope you enjoy running from the bees! 🙂

      • Aww, I’m jealous! My grandfather was the one with the pool, and we ended up taking it down at the end of last season, because it became too much for hubby and I to upkeep for him. So no more reading by the pool for me. T_T

      • Having a pool wasn’t a mandatory thing when we were looking for a house, and it has been a lot of work (especially the weeks after Hurricane Harvey), but I am so grateful we have it. It kinda makes the backyard peaceful – like my own private oasis. 🙂

    • I had to read Grapes of Wrath in elementary school, which in my opinion is way too young to appreciate Steinbeck, so I am happy to be revisiting him as an adult. East of Eden is a beast though. My friend and I have decided to read one part per month, so I’ll be reading it for a while.

I started this blog when I still lived in Italy. We did not own a car. We just biked and walked everywhere. It was wonderful. 🙂

  2. I really like the idea of focusing on an author for a while – I suppose I’m kind of doing that with Agatha Christie, planning to read a book a month of hers this year. 75% on track!

    • Yeah…it has been really great to focus on a different author every month. I have already found one author that was new to me that I really enjoyed and will now have to read everything by her. 🙂 It is funny that you mention Agatha Christie, because I am going to read her in June. Agatha Christie is already one of my favorites though. Hope you are enjoying reading her!

      • Yes, love reading her books! A new author I recently discovered is Jess Kidd, she has 3 books (that I think are all amazing) and could be worth adding to your author list!
