I haven’t posted a WWW in a while. The holidays got really hectic, but I am starting to get back on track. Over the weekend, I posted my 2021 favorite reads and the 2022 reads I am looking forward reading. Plus, I just rebranded the online book club that I host monthly and put it up on Meetup. If anyone is interested, please join us – International Journey Through Pages. We read all genres and mostly focus on reading books and authors from other countries, especially books in translation.

I finished out my spooky October with a few more reads that helped me reach my Goodreads reading goal for the year. I am going to be reading more nonfiction this month for #NonfictionNovember.

This last weekend, I participated in the Dewey’s 24-hour Readathon. It really helped me get through some of my TBR stack. However, the stack never seems to get smaller…lol. Find out how I did here.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Completed 24-hour Readathon – October 2021

PXL_20211023_151642400I made it the full 24 hours! I actually really expected to be more tired than I am. I am sure once I go to bed, I’ll be asleep very quickly. This has been a blast though and am a bit sad that it is over. I enjoyed most of my reads; I got to wear some new bookish apparel (pic on the right – new shirt from local independent bookstore); and consumed lots of great snacks.

Closing Survey

  1. How would you assess your reading overall? I hit all my goals and then some, so I believe I did really well.
  2. Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it? I had a good TBR pile to pick from, which kept me very busy.
  3. What was your favorite snack? I had a cucumber dip and a taco dip, which made for good snacks.
  4. Did you add any new books to your TBR/wishlist after seeing what everyone else is reading? Yes I did. People were posting a lot of books I hadn’t heard of before.
  5. What was your favorite book or experience from this readathon? I really enjoyed reading Zodiac.

Goals Accomplished

  • Finish 5 books – I finished exactly 5 books.
  • Read at least 900 pages – I read 1,044 pages.
  • Read for the full 24 hours – I read for the full 24 hours.
  • Post at least 10 times to social media – I posted pretty much every hour on either goodreads, the readathon site, litsy, twitter, or my blog.
  • Drink at least 90 ounces of water (gotta stay hydrated!) – I drank 96 ounces of water.
  • Get at least one bingo – I got multiple bingos. (See below)
